Zinc and Copper Cladding Portfolio

A gallery of projects completed by ZincArt in Portugal — roofs, facades, drainage systems and architectural elements in zinc-titanium and copper.

This is the gallery of projects completed by ZincArt in Portugal — roofs, facades, drainage systems and architectural elements executed in zinc-titanium and copper. Each project reflects the way we like to work: leading European materials, careful technique and attention to constructional detail. Use the gallery below to see the types of work and finishes we apply in real-world contexts; if you spot something similar to what you have in mind, get in touch and we can talk about your case.

What you will find in this gallery

Our projects fall into four broad families, all represented in the portfolio:

Zinc and copper roofs

Roofs executed in the standing seam system (joint-debout) — the technique of choice for zinc-titanium roofs, with vertical bays mechanically seamed together. Also included are barrel (curved) roofs, dormer applications, attic windows and snap-lock roofs (click system). See the full service at zinc and copper roofs.

Zinc and copper facades

Ventilated facades, flat panels, scale tiles and full gable cladding in pre-weathered zinc (QUARTZ-ZINC, ANTHRA-ZINC) and rolled copper. Solutions chosen by both contemporary architecture and discreet integration into established urban contexts. More information at zinc and copper facades.

Rainwater drainage and metalwork

Gutters, valley gutters, downpipes, water boxes and rainwater outlets made in zinc or copper, with pieces folded in our workshop to fit the building. Also included are flashings and copings for walls and parapets. Details at drainage systems in zinc and copper.

Decorative elements and finishes

Chimneys, ventilation cowls, vents, finials, domes, cornices, mouldings, drip edges and bespoke pieces fabricated to measure — almost always on restoration works or signature projects. See decorative elements.

Where we have worked

ZincArt operates throughout mainland Portugal, with projects regularly carried out in Porto, Lisbon, Braga, Coimbra, Aveiro, Faro, Leiria and Viseu, as well as the surrounding areas of these cities. Each trip is planned from scratch — we visit the site, measure on location and prepare the pieces in our workshop before arriving. This logistical approach allows us to reduce on-site time and meet tight deadlines.

Materials used

All of the projects shown in the gallery have been executed with materials from the three leading European manufacturers we work with:

  • VMZINC — including the QUARTZ-ZINC, ANTHRA-ZINC, PIGMENTO and AZENGAR ranges.
  • elZinc — natural and pre-weathered rolled zinc for the Iberian market.
  • RHEINZINK — blue-grey and graphite pre-weathered finishes.

On restoration works we also install rolled copper with natural evolution to a green patina. See the page on the materials we use for the technical details of each range.
